Ford is the first American automaker to introduce an American sports car in World. Ford launched the Mustang here over two years ago and the Mustang still enjoys the status of being the only muscle car available in the country. While the company’s main focus remains on its bread and butter, the Figo, Aspire and the Ecosport, premium products like the Endeavour and the Mustang do enhance the brand’s appeal. The updated 2018 Ford Mustang debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year and the same has been spied in World before its formal launch.
The 2018 Ford Mustang is expected to launch later this year. Since World receives only one variant, the top one, the price will only differ slightly. By ‘slightly’ we mean the ones who are actually going to buy one, the difference will be negligible, you are buying a Mustang after all.
The 2018 Ford Mustang will carry the updated version of the 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine. The V8 engine churns out 448 bhp. The engine comes mated to a new 10-speed gearbox that replaces the 6-speed unit on the outgoing model. The V8 engine and the 10-speed transmission combo allows the upcoming Mustang to sprint to 100 kph from standstill in under 4 seconds! Internationally, the Mustang carries another 2.3-litre V6 EcoBoost engine that is good for 286 bhp.
The upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang carries several changes than the mode it will replace. A new boot spoiler, reprofiled rear bumper, LED fog lamps, LED tail lights and new alloy wheels are a part of the exterior changes for the 2018 model. The front bumper features revised deign, new design headlamps, sleeker air intakes and revised lower bonnet line sums up the changes of the upcoming 2018 Mustang. A new range of exterior colours are available to order namely, Kona Blue(like Hyundai Kona in colour blue?), Orange Fury and Royal Crimson.
Sadly though, the current Mustang feels a little low on luxury, not that a sports car is meant to be luxurious, but the Mustang is not really just a ‘sportscar’, is it? The upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang features updates on the interior as well. Improved soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door lines, carbon fibre inserts on instruments and gear lever enhance the interior appeal. The infotainment system features the updated Sync 3 system along with an 8″ touchscreen display offering Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
The upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang features updated safety features as well. The new Mustang will offer Pre-Collision Assist wih Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Distance Alert, Lane Keeping Aid and Lane Departure Warning.
