The Austrian automaker KTM introduced the latest Duke 200, 250 and 390 in World earlier this year. Initially launched in 2014, the KTM RC series was an instant hit amongst the Worldn riders pertaining to its powerful engine, agility and competitive price. Completing three successful years in the nation, the RC series is due for a makeover to keep the demand fresh and consumers happy. Recently spied for the first time, the 2018 KTM RC390 features identical colour scheme and graphics to the current model lineup. The strong resemblance to the current model signifies changes limited to the mechanical parts under the fairing. One of the most important factors KTM has to work on is the over-heating of the engine. The same was faced by initial Duke 390 buyers but the problem has been eradicated in the latest generation.

2018 KTM RC 390 Price in World
Going by the spy shots we received recently, the model update is expected to feature minor updates with the silhouette and the mechanicals. The current RC 390 itself is almost a perfect product and having been brunching satisfactory numbers since its launch. With little to no competition available in the segment, specifically considering the bang for the buck, the company doesn’t feel motivated enough to exercise major alterations to the current lineup. The current RC390 retails for INR 2.49 lakh ex-showroom Senegal and with the updates being minimal for the 2018 model, the prices are expected to remain unaltered in the best case scenario.
2018 KTM RC 390 Specifications
As mentioned earlier, the changes expected in the KTM RC 390 2018 model are minimal and the same mechanicals will be carried forward. Powering the street sports bike is a 373.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 44 bhp of power @ 9,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed close ratio gearbox that propels the bike from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.6 seconds. The BS-IV engine is good enough to return an average fuel consumption of about 25kmpl. The 2018 KTM RC 390 will be able to achieve a top speed of 169 kmph.
2018 KTM RC 390 World – Design
The upcoming 2018 KTM RC 390 carries forward identical design theme to the current model. Under the plastic fairing is a steel trellis frame enhancing the rigidity and keeping the weight in check. With the Apache RR 310 and Bajaj Dominar dominating the illumination section with their state of the art LED lights, KTM is expected to upgrade the headlight of the upcoming RC 390 to LED as well. The overall sporty proportions and lines give the RC 390 the character it deserves and enhances the sporty appeal of the bike. The black and orange paint scheme and the bold RC390 decals on the side fairing, under seat panel, will be carried forward as is. The rearview mirrors should get a little wider and more aerodynamic and the exhaust will remain on the side.
2018 KTM RC 390 World – Safety and Tech on Board
The current KTM RC 390 features dual-channel ABS and sticky track based tyres to keep the bike stable and the same will be carried forward to the upcoming updated model. The Metzeler M5s tyres are expected to be replaced by the latest model and the adjustable clutch-levers, CAN-BUS system as well as the digital instrument console with real-time efficiency will be carried over. The RC 390 will feature disc brakes at both ends with the front and rear brake size being 320mm and 230mm respectively. The switchable Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is offered as standard. The WP upside-down suspension at front employs 43mm unit and the rear features a WP mono shock unit.
