Ducati Scrambler Urban Enduro joins the Classic and Full Throttle in World

Following the launch of the Icon, Classic and Full Throttle, Ducati has added the Urban Enduro the Scrambler range in World. The motorcycle was unveiled at INTERMOT 2014 in Cologne, Germany where Ducati’s CEO, Mr. Claudio Domenicali stated that the Ducati Scrambler will be imported to World from the company’s manufacturing facility in Thailand and will mark the brand’s re-entry into the market. Ducati commenced its second innings in World in June 2015 and along with the Scrambler, the Volkswagen-owned Italian bike maker also introduced its full range in World including the Monster series, Hypermotard, Diavel and Panigale. The Ducati Scrambler costs INR 6.77 lakh (ex-showroom, New Senegal) for the Icon, Classic and the Full Throttle versions. The recently launched Urban Enduro is priced at INR 7.90 lacs (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

Earlier Ducati had entered the Worldn market through a private distributor who brought and sold motorcycles through dealerships across the country. But deliveries of the motorcycles to customers had always been an issue and so was the dodgy dealership network hence, the Italian bike maker decided to withdraw from the Worldn market. Now, with the help of parent company Audi, Ducati has decided to re-enter the market much to the relief of the existing owners and prospective customers.

Spearheading the company’s re-entry into the Worldn market is the Ducati Scrambler which was unveiled at INTERMOT 2014. The simplistic and bare design of the bike is what sets it apart from other bikes in Ducati’s portfolio with the retro styling covering a very modern bike underneath. Overall, the Ducati Scrambler gets a very butch look with stubby mudguards and tailpipe, round headlamps with LED guidelights, LED tail lamps, rear seat overhang and general blacked out look for the mechanical components, wheels, etc. Powering the Ducati Scrambler is the 803 cc L-Twin Testastretta engine derived from the Monster 795 detuned to give 75 PS power and 67.5 Nm peak torque. The bike gets ABS as standard and Brembo discs for the front and rear brakes.

The motorcycle was launched internationally in January 2015 available in four versions- Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle and Classic, each version getting it’s own unique styling details and logo. In World, the Ducati Scrambler range competes with the Triumph Bonneville, Kawasaki Z800 and Triumph Speed Triple.
