Mercedes-Benz opens its first exclusive EV showroom in Japan
Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated its first-ever EV-dedicated showroom, under its all-electric Mercedes-EQ brand, in Yokohama, Japan. Named Mercedes-EQ Yokohama, this facility can accommodate up to seven electric cars for display purposes. In addition, there are three CHAdeMO charging points and space for vehicle handovers.

This multi-storey showroom is spread across 1,221 square metres and currently has five electric cars on display, including the EQA, EQC, EQE saloon, and EQS saloon in standard and AMG forms. The showroom also has a dedicated workshop with a five-car service bay. Furthermore, the dealership offers test drives to customers.
The showroom is outfitted with a unique feature, called vehicle-to-home (V2H). V2H allows the showroom to be supplied with electricity from the electric vehicle battery. Thanks to CHAdeMO, which offers bidirectional charging. In fact, Mercedes-EQ vehicles also utilise the CHAdeMO standard in Japan. Mercedes-EQ aims to equip its Yokohama dealership with solar panels for environmental sustainability.
Mercedes-Benz EQ models
Mercedes-Benz intends to go fully electric by the end of this decade, offering electric models across its range. The automaker's EQ lineup consists of the EQA, EQC, EQB, EQE SUV, and EQS SUV, alongside the EQE and EQS saloons. It is also developing the A-Class Limousine equivalent EQA saloon and Maybach EQS SUV.
Mercedes-EQ India
The brand currently offers a host of electric cars in India, namely the EQC, EQS 580 4Matic, AMG EQS 53 4Matic+, and the recently introduced EQB. Mercedes-Benz is likely to bring more electric vehicles to the country in 2023.
