New 2024 Range Rover Sport SV breaks cover
British car marque Land Rover has taken wraps of the new Range Rover Sport SV. This is the most potent Range Rover Sport in the history. Unlike the previous RR Sport SVR, it has rid of the 'R' in the suffix. The sporty SUV features major mechanical updates and advanced performance-oriented equipment, while changes to the design and interior are subtle.
New Range Rover Sport SV: Engine and power output
The new Range Rover Sport SV has swapped its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 with a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 that also features mild-hybrid functionality. Speaking of which, the automaker says that it emits 15 per cent lesser emissions than the previous one. The new mill generates 635PS and 750Nm of torque. In the Dynamic Launch Mode, the sporty SUV can deliver 800Nm for a brief amount of time. It now makes an additional 60PS and 50Nm over its predecessor. Mated to this new eight-cylinder is an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to each wheel.
As claimed, the new Range Rover Sport SV can sprint to 100kmph from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds and provides a top speed of 290kmph. The acceleration figure appears impressive given it weighs a whopping 2,560kg.
New Range Rover Sport SV: Design and Interior
There are subtle exterior updates. The new Range Rover Sport SV features a new front bumper with large air inlets, remade rear bumper with quad exhaust tips, fender vents, redesigned grille, wider front and rear tracks, and new side skirts.
First time for a Land Rover Range Rover, this high-performance SUV gets an optional 23-inch carbon-fibre alloy wheels. Also on offer are Brembo Octyma carbon ceramic brakes with eight-piston callipers as optional extras. Both combined can save up to 76kg of the total weight. Further, Land Rover can equip the Range Rover Sport SV with an optional carbon fibre bonnet. As a standard fit, the SUV comes with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres - 305 at the front and 285 at the rear.
On the inside, the RR Sport SV gets SV Performance seats with illuminated SV logos, new translucent edge-lit paddle shifters, Ultrafabrics PU upholstery, a 29-speaker, 1,430kW Meridian signature sound system, a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a large driver display. The highlight of the interior is a new Body and Soul Seat (BASS) a new multidimensional audio experience combined with wellness benefits, says the brand. The front seats have in-built transducers, generating vibrations with music to provide immersive in-car audio experience.

The new Range Rover Sport SV is outfitted with an advanced "6D Dynamics suspension". It is a mixture of hydraulic interlinked dampers and height adjustable air springs that reduced pitch and roll.

This new mode can tweak the steering, transmission, throttle response, exhaust note, and suspension system. It also lowers the ride height by 15mm activates the track-oriented TracDSC stability control programme.
