2023 BMW 7 Series, i7 EV launched in India, prices start from Rs 1.70 crore
BMW has launched the seventh generation BMW 7 Series luxury sedan in India, with prices starting from Rs 1.70 crore for the 740i petrol . The electric derivative, the BMW i7 costs Rs 1.95 crore . The new 7 Series features radically different styling as well as a host of tech and feature options on the inside.
2023 BMW 7 Series, i7 engine, battery, range
The 7 Series has grown in length by 130mm to 5,391mm, the width has expanded by 48mm to 1,950mm, and the height has increased by 51mm to 1,544mm. There are no longer two wheelbase options with a single long 3,215mm wheelbase. You get the latest split headlamp treatment, a larger grille and simpler body lines. Engine options should be shared with the X7 and include 3.0-litre inline-6 48V mild-hybrid petrol and diesel options.
The i7 electric version carries a dual-motor setup that together outputs 544PS, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just over 4.5 seconds. On a full charge, the 101.7kWh battery pack provides a WLTP-tested range of 590-625km. The i7 can accept DC fast charging up to 195 kW which adds 170 km of range in 10 minutes while AC charging up to 22 kW is offered.

The BMW 7 Series and i7 are packed full of tech and features. You get power opening and closing for the doors while the interior has been significantly enhanced with a more minimalistic, horizontal design theme. You have the iDrive 8 system with the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen, which now offers the new drive modes, a digital art mode, and Youtube streaming. There is now hidden ambient lighting in the central dash bar as well as discreet air vents.
There are numerous leather trim options while the rear highlight is a a 31.3-inch 8K touchscreen display with Bowers & Wilkins surround sound. There are also ambient lighting highlights on the sunroof as well as an automated shade system to go with the screen. Most rear funstions are controlled via 5.5-inch touchscreens placed in the doors. The seats have massaging and ventilation functions and when optioned, the rear seats also recline to 42.5 degrees and single pice leg rests.

The BMW 7 Series is priced from Rs 1.70 crore while the BMW i7 costs Rs 1.95 crore . The 7 Series rivals the Mercedes-Benz S -Class, Audi A8L, Lexus LS while the i7 goes up against the Mercedes EQS. Deliveries begin in March 2023 with the diesel variant to follow later.
