New BMW XM hybrid launched in India at Rs 2.60 crore
German automaker BMW has launched the all-new XM in India at Rs 2.60 crore (ex-showroom). The second-ever M vehicle since the iconic mid-engine M1, brings best of the both worlds - a newly developed V8 and M Hybrid drive system. Meanwhile, BMW will commence deliveries of the SUV in May 2023.
BMW XM Exterior
A large two-piece kidney grille, split headlights, vertical quad-exhaust tips, chunky body cladding, slender tail lights, and sharp creases dominate the design language of the XM. The grille frame, shoulder lines, and window surroundings feature gold accents. It also draws inspiration from the original M1, featuring engraved BMW logos on the rear window. Further, it comes with 21-inch wheels.

The interior gets a dual-tone theme, while the headliner features a unique three-dimensional prism structure illuminated by 100 LED lights. In addition, it comes with M multifunction seats, knee pads, a model-specific M steering wheel, a head-up display, four-zone temperature control, and a Harman Kardon sound system as standard. Whereas, a 1,500-watt Bowers and Wilkins Diamond surround sound system is optional. BMW has bestowed the SUV with a single-piece curved panel, comprising a 12.3-inch driver display and 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest iteration of iDrive.
BMW XM Specifications
The powertrain of the BMW XM comprises a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 petrol mill, a 29.5kWh battery pack, and an electric motor. The engine makes 489PS and 650Nm of torque, while the motor produces 197PS and 280Nm. Notably, the combined output is rated at 653PS and 800Nm of torque. With an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive, the XM can achieve 0-100kmph in just 4.3 seconds. Being a plug-in hybrid, the SUV promises a WLTP-tested EV-only range of up to 88km with a top speed of 140kmph.
