Pure-electric 2022 Kia EV6 launched in India starting at Rs 59.95 lakh
The 2022 Kia EV6 electric vehicle has been launched in the country in a single top-spec GT Line variant, brought in as a CBU, with two drivetrain options available. Prices start at Rs 59.95 lakh for the rear-wheel-drive single-motor version, going up to Rs 64.95 lakh for the all-wheel-drive dual-motor version. Both versions utilise the same 77.4kWh battery pack and the maximum range of the more efficient RWD model is pegged at 528km (WLTP). The Kia EV6 will be sold through 15 dealerships across 12 cities. The Kia EV6 comes with an 8-year battery warranty and a 3-year vehicle warranty
Kia India also stated that deliveries of the 2022 Kia EV6 will begin in September.
Speaking specifics of the drivetrains, the Kia EV6 in its single-motor layout produces 229Ps/350Nm torque, while the dual-motor AWD model produces 325PS/605Nm torque, and you can read our review of this model here. Both can accept up to 350kW charge rates, for a 10-80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes, while a 50kW fast charger will achieve the same feat in 73 minutes.
Given the nature of the GT Line, the Kia EV6 packs a full feature list with a single-pane sunroof, twin 12.3-inch infotainment/instrumentation displays, heads-up display, 14-speaker Meridian audio, ventilated seats, 360-deg parking camera, wireless phone charging, 3-pin AC power socket, connected tech, 8 airbags, ADAS and more.
Currently, the Kia EV6 sees competition in the form of other luxury electric vehicles in a similar price bracket, like the Volvo XC40 Recharge (hasn't officially been launched), the BMW i4 sedan at Rs 69.9 lakh, and the Lexus UX300e (in evaluation for India-launch).
