Tata Safari Facelift launched in India; prices start at Rs 16.19 lakh
Tata Motors has launched the Safari facelift in India with prices starting at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated SUV is available in a choice of four variants: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished. Bookings for the Safari facelift have already opened for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The mid-life update has brought a range of changes to the Safari, including a fresh look, a fresh interior, upgraded ADAS, and a variety of additional features. The Tata Safari automatic range starts from Rs 20.69 lakh.
Tata Safari Facelift: Design
The updated Safari features a new fascia with a fresh grille, an LED light bar running across its width that also doubles up as indicators, bi-directional projector LED headlamps, LED cornering lights, a light strip adjoining redesigned taillamps, new 19-inch alloy wheels, and new front and rear bumpers. Tata offers several new paint schemes with the new Safari facelift, such as Cosmic Gold, Galactic Sapphire, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, Oberon Black, Supernova Copper and Lunar Slate.
Tata Safari Facelift: Interior
On the inside, there is a fresh dashboard, centre console, a new steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new 10.25-inch all-digital driver display, an updated 10-speaker JBL sound system with Harman AudioworX, paddle shifters, dual-zone temperature control, multi-colour ambient lighting, a Range Rover-style gear selector, and capacitive touch buttons for AC.
Tata Safari facelift: Features
The new Safari facelift comes equipped with a new knee airbag, totalling to seven airbags. Plus, it boasts an upgraded suite of ADAS with 11 features. Six airbags are standard across all variants. Other new additions include rear window sunblinds, telematics, a 45W Type-C socket, powered front seats with driver's seat memory function, powered boot opening with gesture control, updated connected car tech, OTA updates, terrain and drive modes, front parking sensors, and welcome and goodbye functions for light bars, among others. Tata continues to offer it with a 360deg camera, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, ESP, hill hold control, and TPMS.
Tata Safari Facelift: Engine and transmission
Powering the new Safari facelift is the 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual, and an updated shift-by-wire torque-converter automatic transmission. This motor generates 170PS and 350Nm of torque.
