With only 150 units set to be made, the Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition will be the last of its kind
Jaguar has presented a new ZP Edition version of the F-Type, confirming that the special edition will be the company's final gas-powered sports vehicle. Jaguar has been producing sports vehicles for 75 years, and this one-of-a-kind model is limited to only 150 units globally. Jaguar's drive to become an all-electric luxury manufacturer by 2025 means the conclusion of the F-Type manufacturing next year.
The ZP in the name refers to Project ZP, a racing program that began one month after the Jaguar E-Type debuted at the 1961 Geneva Auto Show. There were seven modified vehicles made for racing and two of them, one painted Indigo Blue and piloted by Graham Hill and another painted Pearl Gray and driven by Roy Salvadori, won that first year.
The ZP Edition stands out visually from the typical F-Type. It will be offered in two distinct paint colours: Oulton Blue and Crystal Grey. The inside of the Oulton Blue model is crimson and ebony two-tone leather, while the interior of the Crystal Grey variant is navy blue and ebony leather.
The Porcelain White Gloss hand-painted racing-style roundels on the doors and white grille surrounds add to its unmistakable character. Exterior details in gloss black, brake calipers, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels round off the design. Each car will also have 'ZP Edition' branding behind the front wheels as well as a 'one of 150' plaque.
The ZP Edition is available in coupe or convertible body types, and it comes standard with the 575PS version of the F-Type's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8. It also has a number of one-of-a-kind touches provided by SV Bespoke, JLR's customizing division.
The F-Type ZP Edition, like other 2024 F-Types, comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Owners may anticipate a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 300 kmph.
Jaguar already released the F-Type 75 special edition to commemorate the end of the company's gas-powered sports vehicles, but the new ZP Edition is a more exclusive sendoff, restricted to only 150 replicas globally. With such a few number of vehicles set to go into manufacturing, it is unsure if any will be allocated for the Indian market.
