Volvo C40 Recharge receives over 100 bookings in a month; price revised to Rs 62.95 lakhs
The Volvo C40 Recharge was introduced in India in early September, with introductory prices starting at Rs 61.25 lakh. A month later, the EV has reached the 100-unit reservations mark, and the special pricing has ended. With the conclusion of the promotional pricing period, Volvo has altered the prices for the C40 Recharge, which now starts at Rs 62.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powering the C40 Recharge is a 78kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor setup that delivers 408PS and 660Nm of torque. It can go from zero to 100kmph in just 4.7 seconds and provides a top speed of 180kmph. Above all, the WLTP range is rated at 530km, while the EV is claimed to have a range of 683km, as per ICAT.
The C40 Recharge customers benefit from a range of packages upon purchase, such as an 11kW Type-2 wall box charger, three years comprehensive warranty, three years Volvo Service Package, three years of roadside assistance (RSA), a battery pack warranty of eight years, and five years of complimentary subscription to digital services.
The key highlights of the C40 Recharge include ADAS, LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, an Android-based infotainment system, a 13-speaker, 600-watt, Harman Kardon sound system, an air purifier, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and seven airbags, among others. Further, the C40 Recharge uses a floor carpet made from 71 recycled plastic bottles, while its interior elements are made from forest waste, wine corks, and plastic bottles.
The Volvo C40 Recharge faces quite a bit of competition in its segment. It obviously rivals its sibling, the Volvo XC40 Recharge (Rs 56.90 lakh), but it also goes up against its German counterparts such as the BMW iX1 (Rs 66.90 lakh) and Mercedes-Benz EQB (Rs 77.50 lakh) as well as the Kia EV6 (Rs 60.95 lakh to Rs 65.95 lakh)
