Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Concept Coupe showcased in India
German luxury auto major Mercedes-Benz has showcased the Vision Maybach 6 concept Coupe at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, India. Interestingly, this futuristic concept car will be on display at NMACC for the next three months.
That said, the Vision Maybach 6 Coupe made its first public debut at Pebble Beach in California in 2016, followed by the unveiling of the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet concept at the 2017 Monterey Car Week in California. On the occasion of the first Indian public debut of the concept car, Mercedes-Benz India also announced a partnership with Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre to offer various experiences in the areas of art, fashion, culture, and more importantly, showcasing more futuristic concepts in the country.
Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Concept Coupe: Highlights
The outlandish design of the Vision Maybach 6 Concept Coupe takes inspiration from the 'classic aesthetic proportions' of the Maybach aero coupes of 1970s. Although it was first previewed in 2016, the concept still appears fresh with its timeless styling. The Vision Maybach 6 Concept Coupe is almost 6 meters in length, with a 2+2 seating configuration.
While the coupe follows a futuristic in terms of design philosophy, it bears the classic design cues, such as a lengthy hood, a large chrome-rich grille, the rear-positioned passenger chamber, and a slanting roofline with a boat-tail rear end. Not to mention, the Vision 6 Maybach 6 Concept Coupe also features the gullwing doors.
The concept gets a set of 24-inch alloy wheels with aero covers in candy red, chrome trim on the front bumper, side skirts, window frame, and the rear bumper. It also comes with sleekly designed headlights and taillamps.
Inside, the interior Vision Maybach 6 Concept Coupe is reminiscent of the old Maybach coupes. With the good old analogue dials, a two-spoke steering wheel, and minimalist design of the dashboard makes it look stunning. The lavish cabin has a high-grade leather trim and uses premium materials, such as wood and glass. What is more interesting is that the windscreen doubles up as the central information hub, providing essential details to the driver, thanks to Augmented Reality (AR).
Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Concept Coupe: Powertrain
Although the Vision Maybach 6 Concept Coupe draws inspiration from the 70s Maybach automobiles, it is powered by an electric powertrain - an 80kWh battery pack paired with a quad-electric-motor setup that delivers 750PS. The claimed range of the Vision Maybach 6 Concept Coupe is rated at 500km. Meanwhile, it can go from zero to 10kmph in under four seconds.
