While the entire world waits for the launch of the KTM 390 Adventure, a recent spy image of upcoming KTM motorcycles brings to us a startling revelation. It has come to light that the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is preparing to launch a Scrambler motorcycle based on its 390 platform. The upcoming KTM 390 Scrambler will borrow in plenty from the KTM 390 Duke but will have significant off-road capabilities. Akin to the 390 Adventure, even the Scrambler has high chances of making it to World. While there’s no official word regarding the launch date and other related details, it’s for sure that this motorcycle will be manufactured in World. Hence, there’s a really high probability of this motorcycle making it to our market.
If the spy image we have here is anything to go by, the upcoming motorcycle will be dimensionally similar to the 390 Duke. The design of this motorcycle has a lot of interesting details. The front-end seems to be inspired from that of the Adventure; it gets long travel front forks with fork shrouds. Another highlight of the front-end is its dirt-bike like fender. The fuel tank seems to have taken design inspiration from the one on the Duke. The plastic tank extensions give a sharp look. As you can see in the spy image, the front-end features a large diameter spoke wheel. The rear, however, features the same rim that’s available on the Duke. The new KTM 390 Scrambler has a high possibility of making it to the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show.
KTM 390 Scrambler Price in World
|Minimum Price (Estimated)||Rs 2.5 lakh|
|Maximum Price (Estimated)||Rs 3 lakh|
While KTM World will anounce the official price list on the launch date, we are pretty sure that prices of this bike will fall in the Rs 2.5 – 3 lakh range. While this would make the 390 Scrambler significantly costlier than its Duke sibling, the higher cost will be justified through many new features this bike will offer..
KTM 390 Scrambler World Launch Date
The 390 Scrambler has high chances of making its public debut at the EICMA motorcycle show in November this year. While this is the first time that we’ve seen a spy image of this upcoming motorcycle, it doesn’t look like the launch is too far in the offing. This motorcycle will be produced at BAL’s Chakan plant. We expect it to launch in World by end of 2018 or in early 2019.
KTM 390 Scrambler Specifications
|Max. Power||43 BHP|
|Peak Torque||35 Nm|
The upcoming KTM motorcycle will share its underpinnings with the Duke 390. It will get the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that powers the Duke model. However, we are pretty sure that the engine would receive a re-tune before it makes it to the Scrambler. Maximum power is expected to be in the range of 43 BHP while the peak torque would be in the range of 35 Nm. The motorcycle will feature spoke wheels, dual-purpose tires, and a long travel front suspension.

KTM 390 Scrambler Design
From the looks of it, the dimensions of the upcoming KTM 390 Scrambler are largely similar to those of the Duke 390. As you can see in the spy image here, the motorcycle looks compact and very sharp. Its design has many interesting details. The nose of the motorcycle seems to take inspiration from that of the 390 Adventure. The front forks are long travel units that should help the motorcycle during rough road applications. The front also gets a high-set dirtbike-like fender.
