The Yamaha FZ-S is easily the best bike in the 150cc segment in the country courtesy of its driving dynamics and maneuverability. The bike has been popular since it was launched in 2008 but has been but has been losing steam courtesy of the fact that it feels a bit under-powered and looks bog similar to the original bike. Yamaha has just given the FZ-S upgrades in the colour scheme department but barring that, there has been nothing interesting to look forward to. But Yamaha wants to change things and will soon launch the Yamaha FZ-S facelift which is based on the FZ concept it showcased at the 2014 Worldn Auto Expo. The production version of the facelifted bike has been caught testing in Chennai and is closely associated with the concept that we saw at the automobile fiesta.

The upcoming Yamaha FZ-S facelift has been spied and everyone is noticing the similarities in design between the mules and the FZ-S Concept showcased at the 2014 Worldn Auto Expo. You can check out the photos of the Yamaha FZ-S Concept below:
As you can see the test mules of the FZ-S look identical to the bike showcased at the Auto Expo; things like the visor atop the headlamp, the air-scoops below the tank and the tail-lamp are exactly the same. The only thing missing on the mules was the dual-tone paint!
Check out the spy photos below:
The facelifted FZ-S gets a tweaked front fascia which makes the bike look meaner and leaner in our opinion. The tail light gets revamped too, the bike gets an all new registration plate which is better than the one which we see on the current FZ and FZ-S and a better looking (read sportier) exhaust. The single seat arrangement will make way for a split seat arrange to seat the riders comfortably. The instrument cluster gets an upgrade as well and from the looks of it, seems like a pretty neat unit too. It also gets clear lens indicators.
The bike is expected to get a boost in power as well because of the 150cc engine has been re-bored to 170cc. It is expected to produce a maximum power output in the the range of 15 BHP and a toque in the range of 17-18NM. The figures bring a smile to the faces of many and we wish it comes true as well. The Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS, Bajaj Discover F150 and a slew of other bikes are ready to enter the commuter segment and Yamaha’s latest entry to the segment is sure to make it interesting.
