Going by the spy shots of the test mule, it seems that there is no change in terms of the vehicle’s overall silhouette. Expect the new Wagon R to come with an aggressive front fascia. So far there is no concrete information regarding the cabin layout of the next-gen Santro. That said, we can safely assume that the cabin design is going to be in-line and inspired by other Hyundai’s. It will have lots of storage spaces. And is going to be very ergonomic in nature. To offer a premium feel to its occupants, the hatchback can get a dual-tone colour scheme for the cabin.
Coming to the new Wagon R, we expect the cabin to get a major overhaul. The design will remain neat and simple. Just like the current spec version, it will have plenty of storage space onboard. In addition to this, the interiors will be roomy enough to accommodate 5 people. The quality and finish of the materials are going to be decent. In addition to this, all the trims will get dual-airbags with ABS and EBD as standard.

The new Santro is going to get only a petrol derivative. The engine in duty is going to be a 1.1-litre iRDE gasoline motor. This engine will produce 70 BHP of power along with 100 NM of peak torque. All the variants of the hatchback will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Hyundai can also include an AMT gearbox in the model line-up as well.
The 2018 Maruti Wagon R is going to come with the current generation’s 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The hatchback will not get a diesel derivative. The petrol engine produces 65 BHP of power along with 91 NM of peak torque. The hatch will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Maruti will include an AMT gearbox in the mix as well.
