Morris Garages new SUV in World named as the Hector


Morris Garages Hector is going to launch in World sometime around mid-2019 in a five-seat configuration with prices ranging from INR 15 lakh to 20 Lakh.

Morris Garages or popularly known as the MG Motors, the famous British automotive brand currently owned by Chinese SIAC is all set to launch its first product in World this year. The automaker has already revealed that their maiden vehicle in World is going to be a five-seater premium SUV.

It is based on the Chinese spec Baojun 530 or American spec 2019 Chevrolet Captiva. Nevertheless, ahead of its launch, there have been a number of rumours surrounding the name of this vehicle. In order to put all these speculations to rest, MG Motors World has now officially revealed the name of their first product in World.

MG Motors first product in World, a premium five-seater SUV has been named as the Hector. Based on the Chinese spec Baojun 530, this SUV will make its debut sometime during mid-2019. Set to compete against the likes of Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier, the Morris Garages Hector is expected to be prriced in-between the range of INR 15 Lakh to INR 20 Lakh.

The design of this new MG SUV is going to be largely identical to the Baojun 530. It will get LED daytime running lights with the headlights positioned alongside the fog-lamps. The interior is expected to feature premium attributes. And hence, this MG SUV is expected to come with a considerable amount of features and creature comforts.

Though the engine specifications of the Morris Garages Hector will be revealed closer to its official launch date, It is likely that this SUV will launch in World with petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol derivatives are likely to come with a 1.5-litre engine. While the diesel derivative could get a 2.0-litre oil-burner. Both the engines will come to World in their BS-VI configuration.

In addition to launching the Hector, Morris Garages will also introduce several other utility vehicles in World. After the launch of the MG Hector, we are likely to see the debut of the brand’s first all-electric car, the EZS followed by a Hyundai Creta rival in the form of the RX5 to make their entry in our market.
