2020 Hyundai Elite i20 Rendered Based On New Spy Shots!

Here is a fresh and quite realistic rendering of the new Hyundai i20, which was spied testing recently. It is expected to be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo.

New Hyundai i20 was recently spied testing in World, bearing the TN (Tamil Nadu) license plate. A couple of weeks earlier, it was spotted on the European roads as well, similarly with heavy camouflage.

Now, IAB has done a rendering of the new Hyundai i20, giving us an idea of what it could look like. Based on the spy shots, the rendered image looks quite realistic and shows that the i20 will get a big overhaul.

In the rendering of the new Hyundai i20, the front grille looks very similar to that of the global Hyundai i30. The grille will be longer and wider, with completely revised headlamps. The front portion now looks even sportier.

On the side, you get a similar design, with slightly revised ORVMs and new alloy wheels. The roofline also remains unaltered but is covered in a black colour, whereas the rest of the body gets a white paint job.

The rear portion is likely to remain the same, with LED tail lights and a sleek boot. The dimensions will largely remain unchanged, but the stance could be a bit wider. The elite i20 already looks sportiest of the lot, so there won’t be a big upgrade to that.

The last spy shots that we got highlighted the fact that the new Hyundai i20 will get an electric sunroof, as a segment first. New features onboard could include LED projector headlamps, new touchscreen infotainment probably with the Bluelink technology and some new styling bits.

The new i20 is likely to continue with the same 1.2 Litre petrol and the 1.4 Litre CRDi diesel engine, but with BS-6 compliance. There are strong chances of it getting the 1.0 Litre Turbo-petrol engine from the Venue. If this happens, it could be the fourth hot-hatch under 10 Lakhs, after Polo GT TSI, Tiago JTP and Baleno RS.

The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 120 BHP and 172 Nm of torque. The engine transmission remains dicey, as the Venue gets a more premium 7-speed DCT. Otherwise, it will offer a 5-speed MT, a 6-speed MT and CVT gearbox as well.

Chances are that it could be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo in the production form. But reports suggest that the launch is likely to happen by August next year.
