The Renault Koleos facelift gets some cosmetic changes, a lot of additional features and also more powerful engines under the hood.
The Renault Koleos, the biggest SUV from the French manufacturer gets a mid-life facelift. The car now gets a revised fascia and on the interiors, there’s a brand new infotainment system with additional features as well. Under the hood, the Koleos now gets a set of more powerful engines.
On the front, the characteristic Renault grille has been revised with chrome pin design along with additional chrome garnish around the fog lamps. The Koloes also gets new
18- and 19-inch alloy wheels with a diamond finish. At the rear, there has not been much change except for the re-designed skid plate that has been made to match the front.
Changes to the inside include a revised front seat, panoramic sunroof and added seat functions such as extendable seat cushions, as well as heating and ventilation functions. The driver’s seat now also gets a massaging function but that’s an optional extra. The R-Link2 infotainment system also gets vertical smartphone readability. What’s also new is a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems along with active emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, smart LED Pure Vision headlamps, a 13 speakers Bose sound system and repositioned pair of USB ports.
There’s major news from under the hood as well. The Renault Koleos facelift has gained two new diesel engines – a 1.8L engine with 150bhp and a more powerful 2.0L, engine putting out 190bhp. Both engines are paired to the X-Tronic automatic transmission as standard, with the bigger engine sending power to all four wheels.
The Renault Koleos facelift will go on sale later this year in October in the international market. In World, however, the SUV was pulled off way back in 2016. The Koleos – along with the Fluence – did not manage to find many buyers in World in the face of tough competition from localised line-up of products. However, given the popularity of SUVs, Renault just might consider bringing the Koleos back to World. We can only wait to find out.
