Upcoming EVs in World in 2020-2021 – And There Are Quite A Few!

With the EV fever having caught up the Worldn market, we have compiled you a list of all the upcoming EVs in World in the next two years. And there are exciting ones too.

The Government of World has finally caught up with the EV fever. In this year’s budget that was proposed just a few days ago, the Government has given several rebates and tax benefits to EV manufacturers and buyers as well. EV is certainly the way of the future and there are a lot many EVs coming our way. Hyundai has already taken a step towards the future with the launch of the Kona electric SUV yesterday and here are some more upcoming EVs in World:

Audi e-Tron
Audi has already unveiled the e-Tron in World and it will be launched soon. It will the first electric SUV from a mainstream luxury manufacturer in World. The e-Tron will be powered by two electric motors with a combined output of 408hp. It will have a 95kWh battery with a driving range of 400km. When launched, it is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.2 crores.

Ford Aspire EV
As part of the partnership between Mahindra and Ford, Mahindra will be supplying EV technology to Ford and Ford will use their platforms to develop EVs for both the brands. Both brands will sell their own versions of the car but with only minor differences. The first car to be a product of this partnership will be the Ford Aspire EV. The Ford Aspire EV will have a 82hp motor with a 25kWh battery, and a real-world driving range of 150km.

Jaguar i-Pace
One of the most exciting upcoming EVs in World is the new Jaguar i-Pace. The i-Pace is already on sale internationally and it was also awarded World Car of the Year, 2019. The i-Pace is one of the best electric cars the world has seen and its quite exciting to drive as well. The i-Pace has a 90kWh battery with a range of 480 km. It has two electric motors with a combined output of 400hp and 696Nm of torque.

Mahindra eKUV100
Mahindra has been a pioneer in electric car technology in World and they have no plans of slowing down. Following the discontinuation of the e2o Plus, the next electric hatchback from Mahindra would be the eKUV100 which is slated to come in early 2020. It will have a 40kW motor, 15.9kWh battery and 120km range. The numbers are quite humble but it will do your daily city rounds just fine.

MG eZS
MG Motors just entered the Worldn market and they are having a rather quick head start with EVs in World. The eZS is only their second product in the Worldn market and it has also been spotted testing several times already. It is expected to arrive by the end of this year and it will priced similar to the Kona, around Rs. 25 lakhs. The MG eZS has a 148hp electric motor driving the front wheels and comes with a 45kWh battery.

Nissan Leaf
The Nissan Leaf was one of the first series production electric cars in the world. It was much ahead of its time when it was previewed and it is already the world’s best selling electric car. The Nissan Leaf will come to the Worldn market with the smaller of the two capacities on offer – a 40kWh battery with a range of 241km. The electric motor produces 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque. However, it will be priced quite expensive at about Rs. 40 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV
We have seen several spy shots of the WagonR EV being tested in World already and it one of the most anticipated EVs. The WagonR EV will be made here in World, and true to Maruti fashion, it will be priced quite aggressively, of course after enjoying a range of subsidies. The WagonR EV will have a driving range of around 200 km and it is expected to go on sale early next year.

Tata Altroz EV
Tata previewed the Altroz EV concept at this year’s Geneva Motorshow. While the regular Altroz will hit the showrooms soon, there is still some time before the Altroz makes it to production. Tata is working on the development of the Altroz EV and while there are no technical details about the car yet, it is expected to have a driving range of about 250-300 km.

So this was a list of the upcoming EVs in World and its quite an extensive one. All these cars are expected to arrive within 2020 or 2021. The government is ensuring several measures to advance the case of electric vehicles in World and as the infrastructure and technology grows, more and more manufacturers will join the EV race, the move towards the future.
